This is another paragraph Review: The authors of Kylie Naked assure us in their introduction that there wasn't time to obtain Kylie's co-operation with this exploration of her life and career; a bit unfortunate since her involvement may have resulted in something more than the bog-standard showbiz biography that we have ended up with. Kylie's career from TV soap queen as the lovable Charlene in Neighbours to international pop star is covered in a rather routine fashion and features none of the surprises which are surely half the point of celebrity books like this. The trouble is that there is no controversy in Kylie's life that we don't already know about and that which we do is dredged up again as old news and dressed in rather unnecessary rumour and speculation (do we really need to know that Michael Hutchence may have allegedly been in the middle of a bizarre sexual act when he died?) To their credit, the authors don't try and shatter her girl-next-door image and her career is covered in almost bang up-to-date detail, including an extra chapter to take account of her recent success with Can't Get You Out of My Head and her fantastic performance at the 2002 Brits Awards. Hopefully the Princess of Pop will find time one day to pen her autobiography, but until then Kylie: Naked is as thorough and an enjoyable account of her life as you could possibly want., Ebury Press, 3, Saddle-stapled 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" oversized booklet. Red wraparound paper cover. Pages printed on both sides. Very good condition.. Sixteen pager. Oversized, double-length Tijuana Bible. Reprint of an earlier Bible. An unrelated image on the back cover depicts two clothed men and a naked woman in an artist's studio, subtitled with words, "Just then the studio door burst open---." Femme Fatale Olga Lovejuice drugs naive young southern girl Vergie Maidenhead with Spanish Fly and takes advantage of her in a hotel room. When Dick Tracy and his sidekick show up to arrest the criminal temptress, they join in the fun instead. First line reads, "Our picture opens in a very fashionable restaurant..." See D.H. Kylie Naked. Slight marks to cloth. Kylie is the girl we can't get out of our heads - a permanent ficture in our consciousness for over fourteen years. And she's come a long way - her current role as stylish disco diva is a far cry from her first real fame as a naive teenage soap star. This book reveals Kylie in all her glory: her childhood in Australia, he fledgling pop career, and her later adult education by Micahl Hutchence. It tells how she made it, her passions and her heartaches and her struggle to remain at the top in a savagely competitive industry. And it gives us how own thoughts about life: from acting and fashion to music and men.
