Agam Kala Prakashan, 1985. Hardcover. New. The entire fabric of our society has been vitally affected by the oil economy of India. The oil crisis has not only affected our social and economic policies but has also affected our people badly. It was this wide ranging impact of the problem which stimulated the author to undertake the present project. In this book the author tries to show the position of oil supplies in our country and has assessed the oil production through ambitious exploration programmes of our government. The book reveals how the oil crisis arose in the world, in general and in India, in particular as a result of the decisions taken by OPEC in 1973. How the oil has affected the various sectors of Indian economy has been mentioned here in detail. The policy of the government and the success it has achieved in meeting this challenge has been analysed in this book. In the concluding pages the author has tried to give a brief review of the entire analysis and has also made suggestions in the light of the findings to combat the malady through alternative, new and renewable sources of energy.
