Making and Playing Musical Instruments - gebunden oder broschiert

There are thousands of folk musical instruments through the world. This book contains instructions on building and playing some 40 of them, from very simple to more complex. Only a small number of basic tools are needed. The instruments are grouped into four categories: Aerphones: those in which sounds are produced by the vibration of air, such as flutes bagpipes, primitive trumpets and horns -- Idiophones are made from resonant materials, and are generally basic rhythm instruments which include rattles, straw xylophone, clappers, musical spoons and saw, Jew's harp and sansa -- Membranophones produce sound via a membrane. They include a variety of drums, the tambourine, rommelpot and mirliton -- Chordophones which produce sound by vibrations of strings, such as the musical bow, talharpa, African lyre, tin can banjo, clog fiddle, humme (Swedish zither) and hurdy gurdy.
