ABOUT THE AUTHOR :: Quilis Antonio Morales ( Larache , Spanish protectorate in Morocco 1933 - December 8, 2003) was a Spanish philologist ... Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Madrid, he specialized in phonetics and phonology Castilian . He was a professor in language subjects at the University of Seville, Valladolid University and the National University of Distance Education . He made several works by Manuel Alvar of Castilian Spanish America , plus other language in Equatorial Guinea and the Philippines. He was director of the prestigious Journal of Spanish Philology and president of the Spanish Society of Linguistics and a member of the Philippine Academy of the Spanish Language and Philology contributor Romane Centre of the University of Strasbourg. It was proposed to occupy a seat in the Royal Spanish Academy and although he failed , he would probably have finished getting it not been for his untimely death . ABOUT THE BOOK :: The Spanish language was slowly penetrating in the Philippines without ever were to be the general vehicle of communication , but evidently spun a long history. This book is the result of research that for years has been carried out by different parts of the islands .
