As a solution for ending this conflict, he proposes critical thinking on human values. The book, therefore, aims ôto invoke the thinkingö of lay public and ôto build a critical attitudeö in their minds, ôthrough a simple, rational and analytical approachö. With this goal in mind, the author discusses topics like Truth, Beauty, Love, Joy and Art in a language and a style that presents philosophy as common-sense. A native of the city of Hyderabad, India, MUMULLA VENKAT RAO NAIDU had most of his education in Hyderabad at Osmania University where he took his degrees of B.A. (History and Economics), M.A. (Political Science), LL.B. (Law) and LL.M. (Jurisprudence and Constitutional Law). He later studied for a PhD. in international relations at the University of Minnesota. He taught at the Osmania University and the University of Minnesota. He is now an Associate Professor at Minot State College in North Dakota. Before college teaching, his professional experience extended to journalism and radio work. While still a student he took an active part in the Indian freedom movement. He gave up active politics after Indian independence. Since then his motto has been: ôRead, write, paint and thinkö. He has published prize-winning poetry and articles on politics, philosophy, art and education, besides a book on the municipal administration of æThe City of SecunderabadÆ in India. He has also exhibited his paintings., ABHINAV Publications, IconEditions, 1992. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good +/Very Good-. Dj. has some mild shelfwear, edgewear, no rips or tears. The author of this source seeks to determine the factors which are responsible for the conversion of individual Navajo to one or another religious sect. This source treats principally the activities of the Mormons, who are settled among the Navajos at Rimrock, and a less conspicuous but also influential sect which he designates 'Galilean.' Through the analysis of survey-sample results and of life-history materials, his interpretation of Navajo conversion experience rests largely upon psychological rather than sociological foundations. A small group of social scientists and communication researchers were involved for conducting the social impact study of India`s State llite Instructional Television Experiment (SITE August 1975- July 1976) and since then some of them continue to work in this area. Some more joined to work in this area. Some more joined to work with Kheda Communication Project after the SITE was over. Since then this group has contributed a lot in understanding the theoretical, methodological as well as process aspects of communication and communication research. The book based on mostly the first hand experience of the authors documents the historical background of the communication research in India, examines the validity of anthropological methods of communication research vis-a-vis conventional methods. It also reviews the contribution Indian television has made for women and youth employment and it gives interesting accounts of the field experience in field data collection particularly from rural areas. The book would be a historical document of the contribution of a scientific and technological organization in the field of communication and rural development. It will be useful to those who want to understand the educational and development role of communication as well as to those who want to have a feel of field realities.
