Illustrated title page, showing a man and woman on horses in a rural scene and throughout the book there are small black-and-white illustrated vignettes. Light brown coloured textured boards with gilt writing on the spine. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and there is shelfwear to both the top and bottom book edges. Browning to the paper edges. Offset tanning , browning and foxing to the endpapers and browning to the internal pages. Illustrated dustwrapper, showing a Royal Canadian Mounted police man firing at wolves, with yellow writing on the front panel and white on the spine. The dustwrapper is rubbed, faded and the white of the background has become quite discoloured. Chipping, with loss to the dustwrapper corners and to the head and to the heel of the spine. There is a 1" tear to the top rear dustwrapper edge and there is a couple of small tears to the top front dustwrapper edge with associated creasing. A fictional tale starring Sergeant Jim Molloy of The Royal Canadian Mounted Police ( number four in a series ) which is based on a true murder case in Ontario in 1944 called the "Hot Stove Murder".
