HMS Manners survived for one year,travelling 32,000 nautical miles from her date of launch in the Boston Navy Yard in Massachusetts to her rendezvous with U-Boat 1051 under the command of Oberleutenant Heinrick von Holleben.She was a happy ship from the moment of her launch and commissioning just prior to Christmas 1943 until her torpeding off Holyhead on 26th January 1945.Her gallant crew,including those who lost their young lives, should be remembered with thankfulness.
