Handwritten signed letter loosely inserted contained in its original envelope addressed to Fred Hunter, 9 Upper Park Road, Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey KT2 5LB from Gavin Selerie addressed from 1A Astley Avenue, London NW2 4AD dated 19th Jan 2003 and consisting of about 216 words in which he thanks Hunter for sending the [Tom] Raworth track list for his friend and gives contact details for a Canadian magazine that is featuring Raworth in its next issue and suggests he might like to come to his and Alan Halsey's poetry reading at the Poetry CafŽ, 'This venue is the reconstituted Poetry Society. I've been waiting thirty years for the call!' An A4 invitation to Fred Hunter loosely inserted, contained in an envelope addressed as above with various contact details etc in Hunter's hand on back, to Gavin Selerie's Music's Duel poetry launch at Swedenborg Hall, Swedenborg House, 20/21 Bloomsbury Way, London WC1A on Tuesday 6th October [2009] with a handwritten note in Selerie's hand saying 'Contains much previously unpublished/fugitive material! It would be good to see you if you can come.' Other material includes a Five Seasons Press business card and two notes with Selerie's handwritten contact details and one other and a brochure of Shearsman Books publications which includes Angela Gardner who read with Selerie at Swedenborg Hall. 'Le Fanu's Ghost' grew out of extensive research into the lives and writings of the tangled Sheridan/Le Fanu families including Swift's friend Dr Thomas Sheridan, R. B. Sheridan, Sheridan Le Fanu, Rhoda Broughton, Caroline Blackwood and many other novelists, dramatists and writers over the generations. Gavin Selerie (born 1949) is a poet who has collaborated with the poet, illustrator and bookseller Alan Halsey (born 1949). Considered to be part of the British Poetry Revival, Selerie taught at Birkbeck, University of London from the 1980s through to 2004.
