Motion Picture Lovers and Other Strangerswords by Robb Wilson & Arthur Jamesmusic by Fred Karlinpublished by Pamco Music, Inc. 19718 1/2 x 11 inches, 6 pages"For All We Know" is a soft rock song written for the 1970 film Lovers and Other Strangers, by Fred Karlin, Robb Wilson (Robb Royer) and Arthur James (Jimmy Griffin). Both Royer and Griffin were founding members of the soft-rock group Bread. It was originally performed by Larry Meredith. It is best known for a cover version by American pop duo Carpenters in 1971, which reached No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and No. 1 on the US Billboard Easy Listening chart. The song was also a hit for Shirley Bassey at the same time in the United Kingdom. It has since been covered by a large number of artists. The song became a Gold record. It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1971.-----------------------------------Robert Wilson "Robb" Royer (born December 6, 1942 in Los Angeles, California) was the bassist, guitarist, keyboardist, and songwriter with Bread from 1968 to 1971. While he was with the band, they had a #5 UK/#1 US hit single with "Make It With You". He was replaced by Larry Knechtel in 1971.In 1970, Royer and Jimmy Griffin, under the pseudonyms Robb Wilson and Arthur James, wrote the lyrics for "For All We Know," featured in the film Lovers and Other Strangers. It won the Academy Award for Best Song. Before co-founding Bread, Royer had been a member of the band The Pleasure Fair, whose only album in 1967 was produced and arranged by David Gates, Royer's future bandmate in Bread. Now living and working in Nashville, his songwriting credits include works for Jimmy Griffin, The Remingtons, Mary Chapin Carpenter, John Michael Montgomery, Randy Travis, Billy Burnette, The Finnigan Brothers (Mike Finnigan) and others.-----------------------------James Arthur Griffin (August 10, 1943 January 11, 2005) was a singer, guitarist, and songwriter, best known for his work with the 1970s rock band Bread. He won an Academy Award for Best Song in 1970 as co-writer of "For All We Know".Griffin was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. His musical training began when his parents signed him up for accordion lessons. He attended Kingsbury High School in Memphis and Dorsey and Johnny Burnette were his neighbors and role models. After the Burnette brothers moved to Los Angeles, California to further their music careers, Griffin went there to visit them, and managed to secure a recording contract with Reprise Records. His first album, Summer Holiday, was released in 1963. He had small roles in two films, For Those Who Think Young (1964) and None but the Brave (1965).In the 1960s, Griffin teamed with fellow songwriter Michael Z. Gordon to write songs for such diverse singers as Ed Ames, Gary Lewis, Bobby Vee, Brian Hyland, The Standells, Leslie Gore, Sandy Nelson and Cher. The pair won a BMI award for "Apologize".Griffin met Robb Royer through Maria Yolanda Aguayo (Griffin's future wife). The two hit it off immediately and became life-time collaborators both as performers and writers. Griffin was a staff writer with Viva Publishing and managed to get them to hire Royer as his co-writer in 1967. Viva was resistant to hiring Royer and instead wanted Griffin to write with another staff writer with the company. According to Royer, Griffin convinced Viva to hire Royer by threatening "I will be writing with him. Do you really want to give away half the publishing on all those songs?". James Griffin sang songs that were featured in a few episodes of the TV series 'Ironside' in the late sixties.-----------------------------Frederick James "Fred" Karlin (June 16, 1936 March 26, 2004) was an American composer of more than one hundred scores for feature films and television movies. He also was an accomplished trumpeter adept at playing jazz, blues, classical, rock, and medieval music.Born in Chicago, Illinois, he studied jazz composition with William Russo and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College, where he wrote his String Quartet No. 2 as his honors thesis. Attempts by camps of Confederate Veterans to secure and preserve the rolls known to be in existence met with indifferent success. R. E. Lee Camp No. 59 of Jacksonville, was one of the most successful to gather up any appreciable number of rolls, but unfortunately these, with all the other archives and relics of the War Between the States, were destroyed in the great fire of 1901. This CD-ROM edition of the Soldiers of Florida is in PDF (Adobe Acrobat Reader) format and includes our index to Florida Ciivl War Soldiers - 60,000 names in all, plus some additional genealogical and biographical information. A fine copy in a fine dust jacket with publisher wrap around band. (24704). Octavo, cloth. Collects DARK PASSAGE, NIGHTFALL, THE BURGLAR, THE MOON IN THE GUTTER, and STREET OF NO RETURN., The Library of America, London: Groombridge and Sons, 1859 Full calf, richly decorated, sumptuously blind-stamped & gilded on all panels & with five raised bands to spine; a.e.g; black e.p's. Engraved title, title, xxix, 393 [1] pp.; frontis + 16 other plates, from steel engravings; index of 1st lines at rear. Alas this example, although exquisitely bound & clearly intended for the carriage trade has condition problems: fr. hinge almost completely split, with some pulling at tail of spine, moderate wear & scuffing, with minor foxing to some sheets make this an otherwise very good copy - with the split it is best described as good condition & surely deserves being placed in the hands of a qualified restorer. The plates are all in lovely, clean condition & are beautifully rendered. Certainly this is the handsomest Groombridge Burns we have offered in more than 30 years. It is rarely seen in any state of preservation. Egerer: 606 cites 1857 edition. This early reprint was published in Burns' centennial year.. First Edition Thus. Decorative Leather. Good. The second printing of the authorised text, and a different setting entirely from the first, which collated [i]+v-xi+[i]+9-251, the present edition being apparently by far the scarcer. To recommend himself to Frederick, prince of Wales, Bolingbroke entrusted to Alexander Pope his unpublished manuscript of three works: The patriot king dated December 1738; an essay previously written upon the Spirit of patriotism and afterwards addressed to Lord Lyttelton; and a paper on The state of parties at the accesssion of George I. According to the introductory Advertisement, written anonymously by David Mallet, Pope was supposed to show them to a handful of named people, but not to publish them generally. Instead he had 1,500 copies of The patriot king run off and left with the printer until further instructed, intending them to be published, presumably, after Bolingbrokes death, which did not happen until 1751. Pope himself died in 1744, after which the printer apparently contacted Bolingbroke and placed the sheets in his hands, when, apart from one set, kept for himself, he destroyed them. A handful of copies had been abstracted by Pope, however, and one of these fell into the hands of a magazine that began publishing garbled extracts. Bolingbroke, who had never considered the mss. to have been finally finished in any case, decided to revise them and have them published in a form that he approved. The criticism of Pope that was contained in Mallets introduction led to a controversy, Warburton publishing a defence of Pope. The longest of the contemporary ink notes in this copy appears at the end of the Advertisement and reads: This Charge of Lord Bolingbroke agt. Mr. Pope is urged in a very malignant Manner and notes that Pope is defended in Miscellanies No.14. The others identify contemporary references. The front paste-down bears the engraved armorial bookplate of the Rev. Gervas Powell L.L.B. pasted over an earlier bookplate, apparently of the same family origin, whilst the free end-paper bears a twentieth century bookplate designed by Sally Gee, recording the volumes residence in the Tregaer Collection of G.C.H. & D.U.V. A magazine edited by Sixties poet and radical, John Sinclair, co-founder of the White Panthers Party, and one-time manager of the band MC5. This issue of the magazine was rushed into production shortly before Sinclair was to report to jail for an earlier conviction for selling marihuana to an undercover agent. His incarceration lead to a host of protests, most notably Allen Ginsberg, who rushed the stage during The Who's Woodstock performance to plead Sinclair's case, and John Lennon, who recorded the song "John Sinclair" on his album, *Some Time in New York City*. Among the contributors are Robert Creeley, Jonathan Williams, Charles Olson, Anselm Hollo, Ernst Robert Curtius, Reiner M. Gerhardt, Ed Roberson, David Federman, Steve Jonas, Allen Van Newkirk, George Tysh, J.D. Whitney, Bill Hutton, David Sinclair, Joe Groppuso, Jim Semark, Henry Malone, Jerry Younkins, Arnold Shulsky, D.
